Timeless Wingback Chairs

Every now and then I hear that wingback chairs are making a comeback.  I don't believe they've ever been out of fashion and suspect you could look back through decades (and more) of home decorating magazines/books and see wingbacks in all their glory.   A brief history:  Thomas Chippendale has been credited with "inventing" the wingback chair back in the mid 18th century.
Wing Back Chairs are a style of chair that has rolled, filled in arms and protruding wings above the arms at head level sometimes extending down to meet the arms. Usually, but not always fully upholstered with exposed wooden legs.  The main purpose of the wings and filled in arms is to provide the seated person with comfortable protection against draughts and to trap the heat around their head and body as they would have normally been positioned in front of a roaring fire.

I love wingback chairs because of their shape and curves - they look just wonderful in so many fabrics and lend elegance to any setting!
